Are We All In Hermit Mode?

As I sit to write this post on a Monday morning, the house is quiet and the blinds are closed. Perhaps like many of you, I'm a morning person and love nothing more than to flood my home with sunshine and light to start the day. But today, I woke up with a strong pull to remain still and invite quiet. To be introspective and spend a little extra time at my altars, lighting incense and candles. Giving thanks to Spirit, my Ancestors and welcoming the presence of Divine Source energy. It felt humbling and powerful all at once. It felt like the Hermit archetype, taking a time out in order to move forward in time, confident in the next phase of life, ushering in and owning a greater sense of self.
It's Virgo season which rules the Hermit, and with the New Moon in Virgo having recently tagged us all in different ways, there's a universal call to assess, own and create our reality. The Hermit, aided by it's Virgo nature, doesn't see that as a chore but rather an opportunity to get closer to Spirit and gain knowledge that can be used in practical ways to improve daily life. You've probably heard the saying, "As within, so without," which are the Hermit's words to live by. The challenge for most of us is monitoring and shifting what lies within -- our thoughts, habits, routines, health and a powerful desire to make this life count. That's a tall order, especially given the tumultuous and chaotic state of the world we must forcefully and faithfully occupy. Along those lines, I ran across this fitting summary of the Hermit's energy and want to share:

Riiiiight?!! With so many issues and needs demanding our attention and effort, it's essential to make time and create space to simply BE. I agree with the writer that the Hermit card is often greeted with a forlorn sigh in readings because we immediately think isolation, aloneness, perhaps even a lack of support from the world around us. But that's not the case. The Hermit (9) -- which falls after the character building and "shine on" energy of Strength (8), and precedes the Jupiter inspired "keep it pushing" Wheel of Fortune (10) -- is surrounded by seen and unseen forces willing to assist. The traditional lamp it carries lights the path, the earth sustains and supports, and Spirit is in lock step BECAUSE you are more reachable in solitude -- whether that's during meditation, taking walks or doing any activity that promotes mindfulness, a clear head, third eye opened and heartbeat steady. At its core, the Hermit, and this Virgo season, is about radical, no excuses necessary self care. Be encouraged to seek pathways to greater self knowledge. Be compassionate with yourself and try to eliminate overwhelming thoughts, unhealthy habits or even outside connections that foster anxiety or anger over inspiration and motivation.

Since the beginning of August, I have spent more time at home staying away from the toxic energy going on outside. I have felt very fortunate to have The company of 2 loving dogs to help soothe me. My time spent as a hermit is to help me build my strength cause the energy out there is crazy! 😵💫
I remember in one of your recent videos you pulled the hermit card. You immediately said "he gets things done." Instantly I thought "now that's a different take on the hermit!" Probably because I have mostly associated the hermit with not just solitude but as being a recluse. This posts helped me think differently about the purpose of solitude, the benefits and outcomes. When I think about the time I spend alone with my thoughts I think mostly of quiet and peace. This interpretation of the hermit connects solitude to the act of co- creating with the divine. I love the idea of that!
I awoke last night at 1 am and could not go back to sleep so I slept in today which is not like me. I am learning to use ANgel Oracle cards and feel a calling to learn learn learn with you all! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks Afefe. I hadn’t realized the relationship of the Virgo “season” and solitude. I have spent the last Four days alone in our mobile home at the beach. I have rarely turned on the tv. The main purpose was to get quiet and spend time with my guides and Ancestors. It is truly a blessing.
