The Autumn Equinox & Justice for All

One of my favorite images of the Justice card in the Major Arcana is from the Muse Tarot where, like the Autumn Equinox, you witness the change of seasons and the shifting balance of night and day. This is a time of year to prepare for longer periods of darkness even while prepping for the holiday season and reasons to celebrate life, families and friends. It is a time when we embrace traditions that symbolize connection, gratitude and a sense of normalcy -- things that can feel beyond challenging when taken in the context of today's political and social climate. All the more reason to hold fast to our faith in trusting that justice, both cosmic and earthly, will prevail. Just as seasons change, so will the breathtaking, heart wrenching chaos of these times.
In the system of Tarot, Justice is ruled by Libra and Venus and it's lessons center on finding a harmonious and fair balance between the Self and the Other; your Inner Landscape contrasted with the Outer. It's scales reaffirm the polarities you may be sensing and living, days when you're energized or weary, angry or calm, motivated or finding it hard to put one foot in front of the other. Justice doesn't judge you, it helps you recalibrate by recognizing who and what is influencing your energy and actions. As reflected in the image above, Justice energy helps you emerge from situations feeling more centered, capable and more in command of the reality you choose to create.
To utilize the energy of Justice, which is heightened during autumn and Libra season, try practicing affirmations such as the one above, "I call all my power back to me." Actually, I'd put an exclamation mark behind that -- like, say it with your whole chest!! No matter your relationship status, economic situation, etc., you are a child of the Divine Source and you are designed to have agency over your body, mind and spirit. Yes, just like the Justice card illustrates, you can get pulled this way and that and your mind can play so-called tricks but that doesn't strip away the ultimate truth that your soul is your center of power and when you speak to it, it will talk back!
In terms of easy rituals, candles are one of the greatest gifts that keep giving! Metaphorically, they cancel darkness in all forms (real and psychic), and they can bring a sense of calm, beauty (Libra/Venus) and a focus point to connect with Spirit. As you move deeper into this season, challenge yourself to do something -- anything -- daily to set intentions around maintaining your equilibrium in all areas of life, and be sure to express gratitude and hone in on what's going right. The good stuff sometimes takes a back seat to all the "ick" you can get bombarded with daily. Meditating with the Justice card can serve as a reminder to give the good it's due.
Yeah!!! That part! Remember, Libra is a Cardinal Air sign and with Justice as a spiritual archetype, the power of affirmations cannot be overstated. In so many readings I've done this year both for myself and clients, the need for ALIGNMENT has been a constant theme. As the saying goes, "If it don't fit, don't force it!" This is a moment in history when choices have to be made even if it feels like you don't have control or your hand is being forced. Remember that polarity? Two things can be true: Events may occur that you cannot control, but that doesn't mean you cannot make choices to help keep you healthy, strong and feeling capable. Healing is an inside job and it takes many forms -- spiritual, physical, financial, emotional, etc. There is always something you can apply your energy and focus to that will make life feel better and help shift your lived reality -- that powerful thing we co-create with Source! Alignment is a powerful spiritual tool and focus, and discovering what and who keeps you in alignment with your values and goals -- that's the ticket!
