Remember What You're Made Of...

When I started on my spiritual journey to becoming a Priestess, I was also working as a newspaper journalist. It was challenging at times to merge the two -- having a foot in two worlds if you will. Professionally, I had to stick to facts, conduct solid research, challenge assumptions and -- most importantly, make sense to readers! As an initiate and later ordained Priestess, I had to flush out and embrace my faith in the infinite power and wisdom of Source energy and see myself as part of a vast universe beyond my logical understanding. Like many of you, I wanted to discover and live my purpose, but doing so meant learning to walk the line between the highs of faith and unconditional divine love and the challenges we all face as humans subject to the beliefs and actions of others.

Tarot helped me navigate both worlds. As a divination tool, it is designed to help us understand our higher self and life's journey in the context of real life events. It gives us a window into Source energy and powerful spiritual archetypes we can apply to understanding our past and present with an eye toward the future. It is a portal that can strengthen our resolve as Spirits (Infinite Souls) having a Human Experience. At this rocky moment in our collective reality -- a reality that will shift and become history -- it can help us stay grounded and employ some measure of control over our beliefs and actions. While we are in the swing of Aquarius season, and as we embark on a long period (until 2043) of Pluto in Aquarius, this is a great time to study and incorporate the lessons and energies of the Star in the Major Arcana.

Associated with Aquarius, the Star is a card of hope and directing intention toward a future that sooner or later will take shape IF we hold the line and take steps to bring our vision to fruition. While the above image is not from a tarot deck, it highlights two of the main elements in the Star: Earth and Water. Think of the earth as what you know is real -- your family, home, career, life events and experience. The water relates to your emotional development and flow of your life force energy. One of the most fascinating and powerful aspects of water is its unfailing ability to ALWAYS reach its destination -- from lakes to rivers, from rivers to oceans, from various oceans to continents around the world. No matter what earthly mass it encounters, water never ceases to flow. The earth provides necessary boundaries and water, natural disasters aside, respects earth. Earth, on the other hand, cannot exist without water. Remember my opening about navigating two worlds or two states of reality that may be vastly different but can and should coexist?? There you go!

As you continue to live your precious lives during these times of social and political upheaval, remember you are capable of more than you know. Take some time to reflect on how you can better navigate the reality taking place around you with the reality you can help create by tapping into your higher self and faith -- however that works for you -- and forge something greater. Take definitive steps -- one metaphorical foot in water and the other on earth -- to stay strong in mind, body and spirit. Learn more, Read more, Travel more. Connect with your inner world more. Pray and write more. Dance more. Work with crystals and your altars more. Express gratitude more. Share with your loved ones, friends and communities more. Evaluate your choices and choose what to do, when to do it, and how. Listen for guidance and trust it.

Remember what you are made of...and then make more!
